Personal post alert:
My partner and I will be celebrating five years together on NYE in Paris. If you would have asked me where we would be 12 months ago when he was down on one knee asking me to be his wife, I didn’t think it would be here. Somehow loving him more than I thought I ever could before. Being there for each other even when we are on different continents and making the taboo ‘Long Distance Relationship’ work. Having the most challenging year our relationship has faced thus far has been transformative for us as individuals and as partners. So how do we do it? Here are five things we decided on before we had 4,000 miles between us.

Here we are the beginning of December and oh how the time has seemed to flown by. I have been in the Netherlands for almost 100 days or a little over three months. I thought I would take some time to share a few things that aren’t in the information packets about studying abroad. Enjoy these helpful tips and things to think about before embarking on your next big journey.
The canals were lined with Dutch children rejoicing as small boats slowly paraded toward them, the air filled with welcoming songs as Sinterklaas made his appearance in Utrecht. Boats with helpers dressed in bright colors played instruments that echoed across the city center. Families sang together, waved, and yelled trying to get 'Sint' to look their way. Peering between the parked bikes and wall of Dutch fathers with children on their already high shoulders I saw him, the old man all dressed in red, long white beard, topped with a pointy hat.
Thank you for calling Whirlpool this is Katie, how can I help you?
This summer I stepped into corporate America with logistics, google chats, card swipes, and of course phone calls. Enjoy my little recap as I walk through some of my experiences, a few things I learned, and how it all kind of felt like being back at school. It's truly amazing to hear how the blankets that were made, by so many individuals, were given to children who don't have the most secure life, but find the security in something so simple as a blanket. Just being a small part of the impact in Mecosta County is worth all of the time and effort. I am proud to part of a community that cares.
